Garrett Hyde · Graphic Designer / Owner

The route wasn’t straight. The goal stayed the same.

Hyde Digital Design is an independent designer-led studio based in Loup County, Nebraska, built on art, real-world production experience and a long road back to graphic design.

The story

Design has always been part of the plan.

My interest in graphic design started in high school. I have always loved art in just about every form, and I originally intended to pursue a design degree right away. Life took me in a different direction first when I joined the U.S. Army and spent eight years serving.

During that time, I co-founded IKON TATTOO with four partners. Over the eight years I spent with the shop, I worked around a wide range of tattoo styles, artists, clients and visual influences. That experience pushed my art in directions I probably never would have explored otherwise and ultimately brought me back around to the goal I started with: graphic design.

Today, I hold an associate degree in Graphic Design and Media Arts and am currently working toward my bachelor’s degree, which I expect to complete in October 2027. I am also the lead designer for Cable Tow Screenprinting while continuing to take on independent design projects through Hyde Digital Design.

Art before software

Tattoo influence still shows up in the work.

Eight years around tattooing taught me to move between visual languages, think about how artwork sits on a body or object, and understand that style only matters when it fits the idea. That range still shapes the way I approach identity, illustration and apparel today.

Why Loup County

Big-city design thinking. Sandhills roots.

Hyde Digital Design is based on my family ranch in Loup County, Nebraska. Being in the Sandhills does not mean our businesses, organizations and ideas should have to settle for cookie-cutter design.

My goal is to bring the level of thoughtful, professional visual design you would expect from a larger studio to the businesses and communities right here in rural Nebraska — while also working with clients well beyond it.

The studio is intentionally independent right now. Clients work directly with the person designing the project, and the brand is being built with enough structure to grow into a larger creative agency in the future.

Core services

Useful design, whatever shape the project takes.

The style changes with the job, but the work stays grounded in concept, clarity and how the final piece will actually be used.

Branding & Logo Design

Logo systems, visual direction and identity assets built around the business instead of a template.

Apparel & Merch

Graphics planned around garment color, print method, placement and production constraints.

Illustration

Custom work ranging from clean marks and mascots to etched, distressed and narrative compositions.

Print Design

Posters, business collateral, signage and promotional pieces with a strong visual hierarchy.

Marketing & Digital

Campaign graphics, social assets and digital creative that keep the brand consistent across channels.

Web Design

Responsive sites and digital experiences designed to feel like the brand, not a generic theme.

Working style

No mystery. No template-first thinking.

Each project gets enough structure to stay efficient without sanding off the personality that made the project worth doing.

01

Context first

Who is it for, where will it live and what does it need to communicate at a glance?

02

Concept before polish

A strong direction beats a highly polished weak idea. The concept gets solved first.

03

Real-world testing

Artwork gets checked at actual sizes and against the constraints of its intended use.

04

Clean handoff

The final job includes making the files understandable and useful after the design phase ends.

Work with me

If the project needs character and still has to work in the real world, it is probably a good fit.
